The first thing I ask my first time braid clients is “Are you okay with gel on your scalp?”

I’m seasoned enough to know that everyone’s scalp can’t handle heavy product without overreacting and causing a ❄️ flake scene.

My client gets braids often with the use of gel. For her boho style we used oil sheen and a small amount of mousse on the braids near the hairline.

Without the gel parts are still clean, the braids are neat, and most importantly, her scalp is in good health while she wears her Boho Bob style ✨

When I decided to become a professional Braid Stylist in 2023 I literally started with 0 clients.

People always ask, “What made you start braiding?”

In all seriousness, it was the spirit of God that led me to my placement.

What keeps me here is the bigger picture. I will continue to empower women with textured hair to feel secure, loved and confident in themselves and the way they wear their hair. We are finally transitioning into a space where black women can flaunt their braids in corporate spaces and not feel degraded or uncomfortable. I stand on advocating for those women who choose braids to enhance their beauty and professionalism ✨

My clients are Executives, Doctors, Educators, Engineers of many categories, Marketing Directors, Managers, Business Owners, and more. No matter their job titles, most of my clients are hard working professionals that love everything about braids, and I’m so thankful that they’ve chosen me to be their stylist and cheerleader 📣

$45,000 may not seem like much to some, but it’s a milestone for Columbus Braiding Co 🎉

This business began only operating 2 days out of the week, moved to 3 for the first 6 months of business, then 4 days, and officially 6 days a week as of June 🗓️✨

Some of my biggest achievements in business this year have been:

🥈Retaining 40% of my clients (I have around 80 regular clients that I adore dearly 🩷🩷🩷)
